Spring Hanover Round Robin

Hanover, N.H. -- Burlington A ran the table to better ten teams from five Vermont high schools and 17 teams overall and win the Spring Hanover Round Robin on March 10, 2001 at Hanover High School.

Burlington went 9-0 in the ten-round preliminaries to take the top seed into the playoffs. BHS survived a quarterfinal scare from St. Johnsbury A, 10-8, then beat Hanover B (10-1) and Hanover A (15-7) in the semifinals and championship to win the tournament for the fourth time in the last five years.

Hanover A was 8-1 in the prelims and captured the second playoff seed. The host team defeated St. Johnsbury B 10-8 and Lebanon (NH) 10-6 to reach the final. Third-seeded Lebanon A (8-2 in the prelims) beat Colebrook (NH) and fourth-seeded Hanover B (6-3 in prelims) downed Lebanon B in a 14-12 marathon to reach the final four.

Burlington C and Hanover C also reached the playoffs. Other Vermont schools competing were Montpelier, Oxbow, Burlington B and a junior high team from Proctor. New Hampshire teams from Crossroads Middle School and Lin-Wood (two teams) were the other competitors.
