Spring Knowledge Master Open

Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl finalists Hanover and Champlain Valley both turned in impressive top 15 showings as seven Vermont schools competed in the Spring Knowledge Master Open on April 23, 2003.

For the fourth consecutive time Hanover scored highest among Vermont schools in the twice-annual computerized quiz, reaching a team-best, eighth-place national ranking out of 865 competing teams. The Marauders correctly answered 190 out of 200 multiple-choice questions to score 1710 of a possible 2000 points. It was the second highest total ever recorded by a Vermont team.

Champlain Valley posted an impressive 196 correct answers for its 14th place total of 1672 points. The Crusaders were easily the highest-scoring team in Vermont and ranked second to Hanover for the fourth straight KMO among Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl teams.

Other competing Vermont teams were: Burlington, Thetford, Montpelier, Essex and Lake Regions. Their scores and rankings are listed below.
