CVU Secures Vermont NAQT Championship
A field of 22 teams participated in the Vermont NAQT Championship at Spaulding High School on February 6th, and CVU's A team survived a series of close matches to emerge with the title. The Redhawks won all seven of the matches but had to squeak out wins over 150-145 over Mt. Abraham A in the prelims and 215-160 over Essex in the semifinals before nipping Burlington A, 220-200, in the final. It was CVU's record eighth title in the 20-year-old tournament. Burlington A was otherwise unbeaten in finishing second, and the Seahorses handed third-place St. Johnsbury A its only loss in the semifinals. The tournament was the final local tuneup before the state finals in Montpelier. Full Tournaemnt Results
