|Vermont's high school
academic competition for more than 30 years.
|Welcome to the home of competitive academics in the state of Vermont. Since the 1983-84 school year, the Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl has been challenging teams of high school students to show their smarts in a fast-paced question-and-answer format. This year Essex defeated schools from around the state to claim the title and the right to represent Vermont in national competition.|

|CVU Claims Crown at Pasco
The 2018-19 Scholars' Bowl season got off to an exciting start on September 29th as 14 teams from seven schools took part in the Sue Pasco Opening Tournament, and CVU A came out on top. The second seed after seven extremely competitive preliminary rounds of matches, CVU scored narrow wins over Hanover's A and B teams, 340-315 and 355-270, in the semifinals and finals to take the title. It was CVU's fifth SPOT title but its first since 2008. Hanover B, which handed CVU its only loss in the prelims, finished second with a 9-1 record while Hanover A defeated Essex A in the third-place match.
